Schedule Facebook Reels: Steps and Limits (2026)

Schedule Facebook Reels in Meta Business Suite: click Create reel, choose your Page, add the video, then pick a date and time. Facebook's Help Centre says Page posts can be scheduled between 20 minutes and 29 days ahead, and the Reels API uses the same 29 day ceiling.
Schedule a Facebook Reel in Business Suite on desktop
- Open Meta Business Suite and click Create reel, from the home page or the Content tab.
- Under Post to, pick your Facebook Page. You can add your Instagram profile as well.
- Under Media, click Add video. Choose a thumbnail or upload one.
- Write the caption under Reel details. You can customise the details separately for Facebook and Instagram.
- Click Next. For Facebook you can change the audio, change the aspect ratio or trim the video here.
- Choose to schedule and pick the date and time.
- Set closed captions, remix permissions and the audience (Public or Restricted).
- Click Schedule.
You need full control of the Page or content permission to do this. All scheduling times follow your current time zone, which matters if your audience is in a different country from you.
Schedule a Reel on mobile
In the Meta Business Suite app, tap the plus button, choose Reel, add your clips and edits, then tap Next. Write the title and description, choose your Page under Share to, and under Scheduling options pick Schedule for later. Reels from business or creator Pages can only be posted publicly.
Find, move or cancel a scheduled Reel
In Business Suite go to Content, then the Posts and reels tab, then Scheduled. Click the three dots and choose Manage post. Depending on the Reel's status you can reschedule it, edit it, move it to drafts or delete it. The Planner tab shows the same posts on a week or month calendar.
Schedule several Reels at once
Business Suite has Bulk upload reels under Home, then More. You can add a title and description to each, then choose Publish now, Schedule or Save as draft. Two limits: bulk uploads go to one Page only (you can crosspost afterwards), and they go to Facebook only, not Instagram. See bulk uploading Reels before you load a month in one go.
Schedule Facebook Reels through the API
Third party schedulers use Meta's Reels Publishing API. According to Meta's developer docs:
- A Reel is published with video_state set to SCHEDULED and a scheduled_publish_time.
- That time must be more than 10 minutes from now and within 29 days.
- Each Page can publish 30 Reels through the API in a rolling 24 hours.
- API Reels must be 3 to 90 seconds long.
So a tool cannot place a Reel two months out on Facebook's side. Anything further than 29 days has to wait in the tool until it falls inside the window. Full limits are in Facebook API limits for Reels.
Length: the Help Centre and the API disagree
Since June 2025 Meta says every video posted to Facebook is shared as a reel, and that reels "can be any length or orientation". The Reels Publishing API still states 3 to 90 seconds. If you schedule through a third party tool, the 90 second API limit is the one that applies. Check your file against Facebook Reels specs first.
What happened when we scheduled too much on a new Page
A brand new Facebook Page (created 27 September 2026, about 20 followers) was sent 25 to 30 Reels a day through the API, many scheduled weeks ahead. The first few got 12 to 21 views each. Within about a week new Reels were getting 0 to 2 views, then 0. The Page appeared to be limited as spam.
Facebook's API has no field that shows a Page restriction, so the scheduler could not see it. Only the owner sees it, in Page status or the Professional dashboard. We deleted every scheduled post and paused automated posting.
The lesson is not that scheduling is bad. It is that a new Page should not be filled to the daily limit. Start slowly, as covered in how often to post Reels on a new Page, and if your views have already collapsed, read Facebook Reels getting zero views.
Reel Uploader posts one Reel at a time with a daily limit per account for exactly this reason. For how Facebook fits with Instagram and Snapchat, see the guide to cross posting short videos.

Can I schedule a Reel from a personal profile?
Meta's scheduling help covers Pages. The Reels Publishing API only publishes to Pages.
Where do I see the best time to schedule?
